About us

The Tai family has been in the restaurant business for many years, serving Wellingtonians with some of the best Yum Cha and Chinese dishes around. Their first restaurant opened in the mid 1990s on lower Tory Street called New Dynasty. After many years of growing their restaurant, in 2003 they moved to their current larger premise and opened Grand Century.

Our vision of Chinese cuisine is delivering dishes with an unapologetically authentic taste, consisting of bold flavours from sweet to salty and savoury to spicy.
